1. EDP: Hardware Management
- Co-ordination with vendors for system repairs of all the systems under warranty.
- Product evaluation for Quality.
- Vendor evaluation to the extent of background checks.
- Complete Procurement cycle except for negotiating with Suppliers.
2. EDP: Software Management
2.1 Fault Management Support
- Data Transfer.
- Identification of Software Failure/diagnosis & rectification.
- Support for changes required in Autoexec.bat, config.sys files.
- Support for Windows Registry recovery/updates.
- Installation /Re-installation of Operating System.
- Re-loading of Applications already existing in the respective Systems.
- Assistance in porting the backup data to ascertain complete operational system recovery.

2.2 Preventive Maintenance/ Health Monitoring
- De-fragmentation support for better HDD performance.
- Maintaining Registry Backups.
- Ensuring Backups for critical configuration files.
- Scheduling scan disk/Anti-virus in the systems.
- Upgradation (patches/new version of software etc.)

2.3 Office Automation/ Productivity Tools Support
- Handling problems encountered with OA products.
- Installation support on any new Software.
- Fine Tuning of installed Softwares.

2.4 Office Automation Product Support
- Standardisation of documents through templates, common font styles, tabular formats, etc.
- Helping the user to identify the right tools for a specific purpose. This would involve interaction in guiding the user to choose the right application like Word or Excel for a specific purpose.
- Assisting the user in preparing presentations.
- Assistance in Organisation of Data, Documents, Presentations.
- Assisting in find, Print, Present documents and presentations.
- Assisting the user in mail activities using standard tools like IE or Netscape.
- Assisting the users in network file and print sharing utilities.
- Support on new Office Automation Softwares newly installed.
- Guiding users in the basic features and utilities of the front end operating systems.
- Assisting the users in taking backup of essential data.
- Upgrading user know-how by effective communication of the changes in the versions and application softwares.
- Creating user authorisations.

2.5 Virus Call Resolution Help
- Effective deployment and management of anti-virus security systems.
- Assistance in identification, rectification and help prevent virus in the systems and network, by deploying proper Anti-virus tool.
- Assistance to users in checking and rectification of virus problems.
- Keeping users and administrators informed of current versions and information related to virus issues.
- Updating the anti-virus software as and when the new updates are released.
- Installing anti-virus software (Software to be provided by the customer).

2.6 Add/ Move/ Change Request for Hardware
- Loading/ Re-installation of systems after it is shifted from one location to another.
- Adding/ Moving/ Re-installation of peripherals and systems software.
- Assistance in re-organisation of the desktops and availability of the resources for changes in users/ systems.

2.7 Desktop Software License Tracking
- Maintaining the software Database and track changes and versions upgrades.
- Tracking software license and date validity.
- Intimation for additional license of different software as per requirement.
- Upgrading software licenses wherever needed.
- Maintenance of Software License Database.

2.8 E-mail Management
- Installation and Maintenance of Mail Servers.
- Checking for unsent/ large mails re-organise in the queue.
- Adding/ Modifying/ Changing user e-mail accounts.
- Monitoring Mail Gateways / traffic Network sub-systems/ disk space usage for mail.
- Complete system back up and effective re-organisation using tools provided by customer.
- Documentation of the e-mail systems as per prescribed format of the customers.
- Handling problem faced while sending/ receiving e-mails.
- Providing connectivity to remote mail users.
- Generation of mail related MIS (optional).
- Mail box maintenance, creating/ deleting old/new ID’s.
- Creating user accounts with defined access, rights & privileges.
